San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are an NHL team based in San Jose, California, and compete in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division. Founded in 1991, they became the first NHL team based in the San Francisco Bay Area since the California Golden Seals left in 1976. The Sharks play their home games at SAP Center and are recognised for their teal, black, and white colours and distinctive shark-biting-a-hockey-stick logo. They reached their first Stanley Cup Final in 2016 but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. Notable players in franchise history include Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski, Evgeni Nabokov, and Erik Karlsson.
